Eclipse is a Java application and requires at least version 6 of the Java Runtime Environment, JRE, be installed on your machine.At the time this document was written, Eclipse 4.2 (Juno), was the current release. To this you will add support for the GNU tool chain used by the GCC4MBED project.
To get started, you need to install Eclipse. Install Eclipse with C/C++ and GNU Support ¶ This will update the firmware on the interface chip so that the debug monitor can be used for debugging the device.
